Nature-Based Therapy

Individuals | All Ages | In-person | Chapel Hill

Nature-based therapy moves the therapeutic experience outside, using the natural environment as both the setting and a tool for healing. Whether you're walking through a forest, sitting beside a stream, or simply breathing fresh air, nature has a measurable calming effect on the nervous system.

Our clinicians are trained in ecotherapy and walk-and-talk modalities. Sessions are adapted to your comfort level — you never have to do anything that doesn't feel right. Indoor options are always available.

This may be a good fit if you…

  • Feel restless or closed-in during traditional therapy

  • Are managing anxiety, stress, or burnout

  • Are processing grief or major life transitions

What a session might look like

You and your clinician walk a trail or sit outside together. The conversation unfolds naturally in the movement. You might stop to observe something, reflect quietly, or work through a specific issue — all at your own pace. Sessions are typically the same length as traditional office appointments.
